Wow! We had a spring storm last night, and it’s only February. Will, Sully, Josie, and I were out riding our horses, when dark clouds rolled in from the west. Lightning streaked from cloud to cloud. Thunder growled. We managed to reach the barn just as the clouds opened up, sending rain tumbling down. And hail pinged agains the rooftop, sounding louder and bigger than it really was. We couldn’t make it to the house without getting drenched and our heads dented with hail stones, so we made the best of it and played throw the hay at the boys. The trouble is, the boys threw the hay back at Josie and me. We made a big mess, and Will, of course, finally made us clean it up.
The rain kept falling; the wind howled. And I started thinking tornado. So the guys said we needed better shelter, just in case, and we hunkered down in the bales of hay kept in a large It was chilly, and I starte shivering, so Will burrowed deeper in the hay and put his arm around me, and it was very … umm … warm and cozy. Sully and Josie were on the other side of the stall, buried under the hay. And that’s all I’m saying, in case someone gets hold of this diary.
Later, God sent a beautiful rainbow to let us know the rain had passed.
I wouldn’t mind having another rainy evening like this one.
